The Arbat street of Moscow


The Arbat is one of the most beautiful and busy streets of Moscow. It is regarded one of the most popular tourist attraction in the city when in comes to Russia travel. Being a bohemian quarter in the past, the street is nowadays full of various kinds of restaurants, bars, souvenir shops and many other attractions. The street is one of the oldest ones in Moscow, as it dates back to the 15th century. In the 18th century Arbat has became one of the most aristocratic neighborhoods in Moscow. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is located in the western end of the Arbat, which is located in seven building, built according to Stalin’s order.

Visiting Arbat street while your Moscow tour would introduce you to many historical events for the past 6 centuries. Also, many famous people used to live in this part of Moscow. The oldest building in the Arbat street is the 18th century mansion, belonging to Count Bobrinsky. Great Russian poet Pushkin also lived in this street with his young wife. Many great people arrange their Russian tour to visit this historical place. In 1986 his apartment has become a museum, where most of the works by this great writer were exhibited. May other famous artists, writes and aristocrats of that time lived in the Arbat Street.
